CAPE: Home Again

Summer and I are home now!
We had a great, amazing, fabulous time as always. Once again, CAPE! raises the bar higher.

I will write a report later or tomorrow. Right now, I am napping. I've slept about 12 hours out of the last 72. I realize that's way more than CAPE! staff and volunteers (like, I had as much sleep as any eight typical CAPE staff and/or volunteers).

Still great. Still highly recommended.

I think I have been hugged enough to last until next year.(Not that that should stop anyone who wants to help me stock up.)

More later, including pix of many happy Prickle adopters!

You're right. You've got me beat by about 4 hours. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
May. 9th, 2007 04:14 am (UTC)
Me either. The only other event I have ever come home from smiling and energized is my first three trips to Anime Iowa, San Diego if I'm only in for 48 hours, and CAPE!

Yeah, you've got me beat by about the same, but I'll be damned if I'm not gonna make up for it tonight! I'd be more than happy to sleep until the store opens again on Tuesday.

I'm ecstatic that you made it out again and with an extra special guest as well! Please tell Summer "hi" for me and that I'm glad I got a chance to chat with her a bit last night, even if it was only very briefly.

Summer had an awesome time! She only got crabby, like, twice. That's a sign of some serious happiness.

I'm glad she had a good time. I'm surprised the lack of sleep everyone experienced this weekend didn't lead to mass crabbiness.
May. 9th, 2007 02:19 am (UTC)
Yeah, really!
Now that you say that, I feel like we dodged a Crabbypocalypse!

Cape was a blast. I'm already planning for next year.

It was great to meet both you and Summer. She is a fine artist! What a good kid.

My poor Prickle is homeless! My daughter was tapping her foot at me for not bringing the little guy home.

It got done, and I brought them to the brunch and NO TOM. I will mail her. (Prickle is a her.)
May. 8th, 2007 04:00 am (UTC)
Yeah, I had to head home to my family, so no BIG GAY BRUNCH for me.

Next year I bring the wife with and stay for brunch.

great as always to see you, and I LOVE my Prickle! It has a place of honor in my home.
May. 8th, 2007 03:03 am (UTC)
You, too!
May. 8th, 2007 03:30 am (UTC)
Aw. you flatter me, lady. truly.

i'm am so glad i got to see you again and meet summer. she's very awesome. i loved her shoes! i need to hook darediva up with a pair. where'd you guys find them?

i'm sorry we didn't get to see you guys at dinner. it didn't even occur to me or alice that there was more than one. 0.o

glad you two made it home safe. 8^)

Search online for "tred air kitty shoes." They are about $150., but they will last 5+ years. Don't buy the TUK Kitty Shoes. They are way cheaper, and will fall apart fast.

I'll mail your Prickles. I didn't know there were two dinners, either!

So much fun to meet Girl and see you again. Girl rocks!

Kit and I had some excitement on the way home. More excitement than IKEA! We hit a deer just outside Bald Knob, AR. My car may not be fixable. We are fine. The deer...well.

Thanks so much for the sketch and personalizing the Manga Secrets for my niece. She will be very thrilled with this.

You can ship both the Prickles to me, if you like, and I will get the one to Kit. Save you a little trouble, and it will be over here for pricklization anyway.

Did you take pictures? That's what fucked-up occassions are for: pictures.
I am glad you're okay! In deer v. car, no one wins. It's like Driving Thunderdome.

I was so glad to see you both. I hope you come out of your recent trials better and stronger. t was also fun to neep about sewing with you.
And you were right: I do put the needle on the thread. WTF. I have been making sure to do it thread-to-needle since.

Hello from the Feep Guy! It was good to chat with you at CAPE, and I wanted to thank you again for the length of ... uh ... I don't remember what it was called, but the squishy rubbery necklace strand. You were quite right about how comfortable it is: I put it on at one point and completely forgot I was wearing it.

Prickle is awesome, by the way. I may need to own one. Just sayin'.

Glad I could help with the tubing. Now to get you to try Kato Polyclay, moo hoo ha ha.

BTW, here is where I get MY glow-in-the dark powder for mixing in and on clays:

Any old time you need a Prickle, just go to divalea.etsy.com and you can order one.

Thanks for the Feeps!

G ... glow-in-the-dark powder ... I have little to no willpower when it comes to glow anything; it's like a sickness. A glowing sickness.

Well, my birthday is nigh, so perhaps Kato and glow powder and squishy tubes and a Prickle are all in my future. Yeah, you might see about these various craft suppliers giving you a cut of the take. It seems only fair.

It's gonna be your birfday??

I have lotsa Kato, due to the kindness of Polymer Clay Central and Jeanne Havel of Makins'. Want a sampler to get your feet wet? For your birfday?

I was turned on the the glow powder by mrcaxton. He is evil.
May. 10th, 2007 03:05 pm (UTC)
Oooo, well, I would be happy to give the Kato a try. (And yes, my day of birf is June 5, so it fast approaches). If you don't mind mailing it you can send it to my PO Box:

Dylan Edwards
Feeping Creatures
PO Box 385
Pflugerville, TX 78691

That's very generous of you to offer! I'll have to be sure to send you pictures of the first round of Kato Feeps. And possibly one of the first round of Kato Feeps. :)
