Rumble Girls opens Monday, but I'm offering Early Monster* subs from today  through Sunday evening May 10, 2009, at 11PM Central Yank time.
Early Monsters subbing during this period will get a FREE sketchcard! Like so!

Out of necessity (regular updates and being a single parent make for a lot of necessary) and enjoying telling stories and sharing them, I am offering subscriptions to RG:RLO.
Subscription sare $5.00/month via PayPal, using their recurring payment feature.

Subscribers will get awesome stuff:

Early access to
RG:RLO updates.
A monthly wallpaper and icons.
A monthly PDF containing script excerpts and production art from
, plus previews of the next month's story.
A monthly drawing for five winners of original, one-of-a-kind sketchcards.
A monthly drawing for a part as an extra in RG:RLO. (May substitute spouse, cat, mom, etc.)
Every six months, there will be a drawing for an original watercolor. (Oooh, Ahhhh.)

To make this work, I need at least 320 subscribers. I know I have a third more than that in followers just here on LiveJournal!

Please Twitter this, re-post, and share the URL of this post to your own blogs, Facebook pages, etc. using this handy-dandy URL:

*People who don't have PayPal can subscribe using money order, for six months at a time.

May or may not have voted twice. Grr argh brains.

Just once, unless it was you that pledged $30.

How often do you expect to be updating (and in what size)? does $5/mo get me ten pages? thirty? two?

I'm interested. I'm also thinking $60/year is two, maybe three TPBs. For non-subscribers is there a teaser available?

Non-subs will get updates later than subs, and none of the goodies.
With subscription support, I can work on RG:RLO full time, which means 12 pages a month, updating Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

sooper. i'll sign up for a year.

Thanks for hoping on board!

Keep in mind that the point of the Fundable pledges is just to get a headcount. You'll do the actual paying via PayPal as a $5./month subscription.

ok. so you'll cancel the fundable when the time comes and i can sign up for the $5/mo sub?

Yes. The amount is ridiculously high so I can count subscribers, not get the money via Fundable.

Done and twitted. Looking forward to it!

IN addition to subscriptions, have you thought of selling merchandise? I'd love to own a Rumble Girls T-shirt, or for that matter a Clockwork Angels one.
Apr. 14th, 2009 02:10 am (UTC)
T-shirts are likely in the future, but only when I can afford printing and there's sufficient demand for them. I'm not going to fool with Spreadshirt or Cafe Press or the like.
Apr. 14th, 2009 04:58 am (UTC)
I'm in!

I think you should bother with speadshirt or something, even if it only generates a few bucks here and there, it can help diversify your offerings.
Apr. 14th, 2009 06:36 am (UTC)
It's just that to make even a modest profit, the mark up makes the items ridiculously expensive.
Apr. 14th, 2009 06:35 am (UTC)
I have a very reasonable and capable screenprinter that I use when I do t-shirts for an event right up the road from me. When you decide to do this, let me know. Excellent quality shirts, quick turnaround time, and small minimums.

The Cafepress stuff I've seen has totally underwhelmed me.

Count me in for a subscription.

Thanks and thanks!

add me to the subscriber list! 8^)
